Welcome to Islander Paddler and the Islander Paddler Academy of Paddling We're located on Hampshire's, Hayling Island, a significant region of water sports excellence in the British Isles. We offer advice and run specific courses tailored to outrigger canoeing and board paddling (SUP), two sports which share a very strong genetic lineage.

Board Paddling Tuition (Beginning April 2011)
We are accredited with the Academy of Surfing Instructors in the tuition of board paddling courses in flat waters, exposed, beginner surf and downwind paddling and advanced bespoke micro-management sessions for those wishing to improve. We also train and qualify board paddling (SUP) instructors under the ASI Instructor Training scheme throughout the year, both here on Hayling Island, throughout the British Isles and parts of Europe and run ASI Water Safety Awards.

Outrigger Canoeing Tuition and Try Outs (Beginning April 2011)
We run outrigger canoeing courses accredited with the Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association. We have the use of a 43ft Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe and can work with groups of 5 at any one time. Steve West your instructor, is a 2 time World Champion and considered to be one of the world's leading exponents.

Hayling Island is a well known breeding ground for some of the UKs top sailors, kitesurfers and windsurfers having played a significant role in the evolution of these sports; windsurfing introduced in the late 70s and kitesurfing in the 90s. Both Steve and Mandy have had a connection with the island all of their lives and today reside here from where they can practice their love of ocean sports.
